of flaring cylindrical form with tall neck and vertically developed cover surmounted by a fully modelled figural group. The body of each vase is entirely in relief with narrative scenes of courtly taste in rocky river landscapes, populated by ladies and dignitaries in wind-swept robes among clouds, trees and stylised rocks, within shaped reserves bordered by scroll motifs. At shoulder height are strongly moulded rectangular cartouches with small genre scenes set outdoors or in interiors, flanked by leonine masks from whose jaws hang large movable rings turned from the same material. The foot bears a dense decoration of confronted dragons in high relief chasing the flaming pearl, enclosed by bands of geometric motifs and gadrooning, while the base is incised with a Chinese-character mark within a double key-fret border.
