Se piazza del popolo non significasse, come significa, piazza del pioppo, potrebbe esserci una specie di destinazione (ma chi ci dice che il destino non sia anche ignorante?) nel rimando da popolo a pop. Scuola di piazza del Popolo, ovvero Pop romani: sono infatti le due definizioni più frequenti anche se, ovviamente, la seconda è odiosa agli interessati, come qualsiasi etichetta genericamente cumulativa e, in sostanza, impropria.
