Caves de l'Hotel de Paris Grande Vieille Reserve Premier Empire Cognac
Francia - Cognac

The "Premier Empire" cognac is a special edition bottled by the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo. Produced by the Hotel Caves, it takes its name from the cask which seems originally contained some liquid from the First Empire period (1804-1814). The cask has never been emptied, but every time a bottle was filled, an amount of cognac was added to the cask. This means that this "cuvee" should contain a percentage of cognac dating back to the first 15 years of the 1800s, when Napoleon's power was at its peak.
Analyzing the cl content and the absence of numbering on the label (which was added later in time) we estimate this was bottled around the 60s of the XXth century.
