Third model. 7-1/2", octagonal, rifled, 36 cal. barrel (visible rifling, some signs of use and time inside), with foresight, featuring clearly legible standard dorsal mark, ending in "NEW YORK CITY". Barrel and cartridge rammer with serial number matching the frame, barrel wedge also with matching but abbreviated number; six-shot cylinder with slight traces of the Texas-Mexico naval battle scene, still legible patent and serial numbers (also matching the frame). Working mechanism (only two snaps, working safety lock to the trigger, cylinder does not rotate but the snap with free rotation is missing). Frame marked "COLTS PATENT" and serial number "50xxx". Brass gripstraps with remains of silver plating, with matching serial numbers. Small, rounded trigger guard with mark "V". Some pitting. Smooth, walnut grip.
