Information

Diego Armando Maradona relic card, produced by Leaf in 2024. This card is part of the “In the Game Used” series, with a limited run of only 50 cards (ours is number 21). Diego Maradona was a legendary Argentine footballer, considered by many to be one of the greatest players of all time. Born on October 30, 1960, in Lanús, Argentina, Maradona enjoyed a remarkable career both at club and national level. Maradona is best known for his role in the 1986 World Cup, where he led Argentina to victory. During that tournament, he scored two of the most famous goals in football history: the “Goal of the Century” against England, in which he dribbled past five opposing players, and the “Hand of God,” in which he used his hand to score an illegal goal. His dribbling, passing, and goal-scoring skills have made him an iconic figure in the world of football. At club level, Maradona played for teams such as Boca Juniors, Barcelona, and Napoli, where he won several national and international titles. With Napoli, in particular, he led the team to two Serie A titles, becoming a legend among the club's fans. Beyond his successes on the pitch, Maradona was also a controversial figure, embroiled in various legal and personal issues during and after his football career. Maradona passed away on November 25, 2020. However, his impact on the world of football and his extraordinary skill still make him an admired and respected figure worldwide.
