Samir Handanovič is a Slovenian footballer, a goalkeeper, who played the most important part of his career in Italy, where he played for Udinese, Treviso, Lazio, Rimini and again for Udinese. From 2012 to 2023 he played for Inter, of which he was captain from 2019 to 2023 and with which he won an Italian championship (2020-2021), two Italian Super Cups (2021 and 2022) and two Italian Cups (2021-2022 and 2022-2023), as well as having reached a UEFA Europa League final (2019-2020) and a UEFA Champions League final (2022-2023). With the Slovenian national team, of which he was a member from 2004 to 2015, he started the 2010 world championship. He is second among the foreign players most present in Serie A, behind Javier Zanetti (615), and the first goalkeeper by number of appearances for Inter in Serie A. He holds the record for most penalty kicks saved in the history of Serie A and is the goalkeeper who has saved the most during a season, 6 (in the 2010-2011 championship).
