Ed O'Neill (Youngstown, April 12, 1946) is an American actor who made his film debut with the filmA quiet weekend of fear . He is best known for his portrayal of Al Bundy, the lazy family man and couch potato protagonist of the seriesMarried... with children (among the most famous series on the Fox Network which aired from April 5, 1987 to June 9, 1997), and for Jay Pritchett in the seriesModern Family, a role that earned him three Emmy Award nominations.
