Literature
Ruth Elizabeth "Bette" Davis (Lowell, April 5, 1908 – Neuilly-sur-Seine, October 6, 1989) was an American actress. Considered one of the best actresses in the history of Hollywood cinema, Davis made her debut on Broadway, before arriving in Hollywood in the early 1930s. In 1934, thanks to his performance in the film “Schiavo d'amore”, he managed to establish himself as a star of the first magnitude until the first half of the 1940s. Starting from the mid-sixties, he began to regularly alternate between cinema, theater and television, even winning an Emmy Award for his performance in the miniseries "The Abyss - Story of a Mother and a Daughter" (1979). Bette Davis was the first woman to be elected president of the Academy, and the first actress in history to achieve the record ten Oscar nominations, an award she won twice as best actress: in 1936 for her performance in Fear of 'love (1935) and in 1939 for the film Daughter of the Wind (1938).
