Philadelphia [Livorno], printed by the United Provinces [Tommasi Masi & C.] 1796-97. In 8°. 6 vols. The first volume has a frontispiece with a portrait of the author and a plate depicting Machiavelli's tomb engraved by Raffaello Morghen and Angelo Emilio Lapi, 2 folded plates, all engraved in copper, some sporadic foxing and browning, contemporary full hard parchment binding, titles on double red and green morocco labels on the spine, elegant gold decorations, minor defects and signs of wear.

Specialist Notes

Very rare edition printed by Gaetano Poggiali in Livorno, "from the same edition Poggiali produced issues of individual works in limited editions on parchment and blue paper, intended for his collection and that of other bibliophiles" (Opac SBN)
