First edition : Edition edited by the famous bookseller G.Pickering (London 1796 - 1854) in the Miniature Classic series also known as Diamond Classics , small-format volumes (including editions of Petrarch, Shakespeare, Homer and the Bible), with great care taken in the choice of characters and composition, also introducing a change in the type of bindings made using percale cloths which had been little used until then.
