Motto Fortiter occupies portum). Woodcut initials and friezes, illustrations, text in double frame. Binding in full coeval rigid parchment, handwritten title on the spine, ribs.
Specialist Notes
This extraordinary work written by the Roman physician Castore Durante (Gualdo Tadino, 1529 - Viterbo, 1590), originally published in 1585, brings together more than 900 plant species, arranged alphabetically according to their common name, accompanied by numerous woodcut illustrations probably made by Isabella Parasole.
