French was the first language to receive Joyce's masterpiece in translation, with a famous team work revised by the author which constitutes "a moment and a monument" of French literature (J. Aubert, Joyce, II , Paris 1995, p. 1032).
Uncommon second edition of the first and for a long time the only French translation, issued for the first time in a limited edition of 1200 copies by La Maison des Amis du Livre in February 1929.
