Jurisconsult originally from Montefusco (AV), Eliseo Danza (1584-1660?) was a well-known writer as well as mayor of his native town. "Advocate for the poor" in the Grand Court of the Vicariate of Naples and in the royal hearings of Basilicata and Principato Ultra was extremely scrupulous and guaranteed against the excessive use of ruthless & nbsp; legalized means of repression in order to avoid hasty and unjust death sentences & nbsp; His works deal with a vast review of the most disparate legal cases supported by defender or public prosecutor and allow us to know the reality of the courts of the 17th century kingdom of Naples
