Original comic art made by Crepax for "La mangiatrice di tempo", published for the first time on page 4 as a preface to the volume Barbarella by Milano Libri in 1973. Signed and dated.
Specialist Notes
As in Forest's stories, one of which is called Tempo mangia tempo, Crepax refers to some characters from Lewis Carrol's novel, Alice in Wonderland. There are the twins Pinco Panco and Panco Pinco, the Brucaliffo and a sort of monstrous White Rabbit who in this table gives Valentina time in a liquid state and then slips her down a cascade of blond hair that will turn out to be just those of a giant Barbarella. Barbarella whom Crepax imagines as a large hen, while Valentina, who has just been born from an egg, admits that she came after Brigitte Bardot's fascinating comic book version.
