Information
tempera on cel and thin cardboard
33 x 24 cm
Original cel on painted background for "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" by Claude Debussy, first animated episode of "Allegro non troppo", a film produced and directed by Bruno Bozzetto in 1976. In an idyllic world, an old faun seeks female company but, as much as he tries to improve his appearance, he is rejected by the young nymphs and is forced to remain alone without knowing that the hills he walks on are a woman's breasts. A milestone in Italian and European animation, a response of the highest technical and artistic level to Disney's "Fantasia". The scene we are presenting is present at minute 1:32.
