Work accompanied by Certificate of authenticity released by Dante Diaz Korda
Alberto Korda in Batista's Cuba, which he considered the playground of wealthy American tourists, was an established fashion photographer. The Castro revolution saw him as an enthusiastic participant and, having abandoned his studios with lights and backdrops, he moved to the street, becoming a thoroughbred reporter capable of recounting the first effervescent results of the new Cuba. While much has remained of his extensive work, it is the famous portrait of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara that sums up an entire, unrepeatable era in one face, one expression, one glance.Contact
