Cologne, formerly the Eucharij Ceruicorni workshop, 1533. On 2nd page. Title page framed by an illustrated woodcut frame, text in two columns, small woodworm damage to the inside margin of some quires, some very slight traces of damp, publisher's erasure in pen on the title page, semi-parchment binding on the back, blue spray cuts, loss on the spine, minor defects. Ownership signature on the title page.
Specialist Notes
A rare edition of this work on Saint Paul by Sant'Anselmo (Aosta, 1033/34 – Canterbury, 1109), a medieval Benedictine monk, theologian, and philosopher. Abbot of Bec and later Archbishop of Canterbury, he was one of the leading exponents of scholasticism.
