Provenance

The model
The 993 series is the last Porsche 911 equipped with an air-cooled engine, being replaced with the introduction of liquid cooling in the 996 version. 30 years after the first 911 was produced, Porsche was in rough seas, with a drastic drop in production from 50,000 to 15,000 vehicles in 1992; the 993 will be the company’s lifeline. The 993 was presented in 1994 in the two-wheel drive version only, with a 3.600 cc 272 hp M64 / 05 boxer 6-cylinder equipped with many new components, including: the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons and a new and unheard of 6-speed gearbox type G50/20, while the automatic transmission available for the model, the Tiptronic type A50/04 is further modified. The chassis is derived from the previous 964 Carrera, but with substantial development to the rear suspension that adopts, for the first time, the Multi-link scheme, which makes driving more pleasant and precise. The ABS system is the latest evolution: type 5 flanked by the ABD system, which guarantees better traction even on slippery surfaces, the braking system is enhanced with four-piston calipers. The line, signed by the Englishman Tony Hatter, shows more flared wheel arches, an enlarge dretractable rear spoiler and teardrop mirrors; the front design is characterized by an even more sloping nose, which abandons the classic design of Porsche’s vertical headlights, replaced by Bosch poly-ellipsoidal headlights. In the Interior, the 993 does not present as many changes as the exterior, except for the new seats and the four-spoke steering wheel with push-button gear controls. Over the years, the 993 series has been enriched with numerous variants: the cabriolet in 1994, the four-wheel drive version "Carrera 4" in '95 and the more powerful "Carrera 4S" in 1996 both of which use a new viscous coupling to all-wheel drive; in 1996 the 993 Targa appeared, for the first time with an automatic sliding glass roof. The 993 models with naturally aspirated engines are flanked, as in the previous 964 series, by models with supercharged engines: the all-wheel drive Turbo presented in 1996, the very powerful GT2 intended for racing use is introduced in 1995 and then in 1998 presented with the "EVO" engine; some cars of this model were made for road use. In 1997, at the end of the 993's career, the rare Turbo S was created, with only 160 vehicles being built. For customers looking for maximum sports performance, the 993 RS is created, in both basic and clubsport versions, lightened models of the Carrera 993, equipped with a 300 hp engine, sports suspension, aerodynamic spoilers and, in the case of clubsport, welded roll-bar. The 993 series marks an important milestone for the company, with the millionth Porsche produced (a white one for the German motorway police). There are also two examples of the 993 Speedster: one green, given to Ferry Porsche for its 60th birthday in 1995, and one silver delivered to the actor Jerry Seinfeld in 1998.
The car
The Porsche 911 Carrera 2, chassis no. WP0ZZZ99ZRS315098, was built in 1994 and has covered 87,288 km. It comes from the cars chosen for the Saottini Collection. The car is preserved, does not show any signs of discoloration or wear, the interiors are original made by Porsche Exclusive is the famous Cartier Red; as is the dashboard background once again by Porsche Exclusive.
