The unique composition here depicts a large water gate channels water from the Arakawa River (荒川) into farmland. Mount Fuji seen through the rectangular frames of the wooden water gate. A traveller or a farmer stops for a moment at Senju, a northern suburb of Edo, to admire the view of Mount Fuji whilst two fishermen cast their lines in the foreground to the left.
