In June 1977, the event La settimana delle Performances took place in the Galleria Comunale of Bologne. During this event, Luigi Mainolfi dropped a plaster sculpture of an angel onto the floor, and onlookers then picked up the fragments. The present piece became part of the collection of Mario Carbone and Elisa Magri, owners of the Ciak Gallery in Rome.
