pencil, ink and watercolor on cardboard
58,5 x 39 cm
Original illustration made by Moebius from the "Chronique Science Fiction" series, first published as a double-page spread in Pilote Mensuel n. 2, pp. 54 and 55, by Dargaud in July 1974. Subsequently published in the volume "Chroniques Métalliques," pp. 42 and 43, by Les Humanoides Associés in 1992. With this column, titled "Chronique Science Fiction," Moebius simultaneously illustrated three contemporary American science fiction novels: "Les Culbuteurs de l'enfer" by Roger Zelazny, "Babel-17" by Samuel R. Delany, and "Candy Man" by Vincent King. A superb testament to Moebius's interest in Anglophone science fiction, a theme that would characterize all of his subsequent work. Small tear at the top and bottom margins, small loss at the top right corner. Publisher's stamp on the back. Signed.
