Auction details
The first session, titled Convivium – The Art of the Table, brings together 40 refined objects related to table service and culture: complete sets, candlesticks, cruets, and centerpieces, all expressions of elegance and convivial tradition.
The remaining 240 lots will be auctioned on Monday, the 27th, starting at 2:30 p.m., offering a broad and varied overview of silverwork from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
Of particular note is a prestigious collection of Russian silver, including a pair of important vermeil plates from the Orloff imperial service, dated 1859. Also of Russian manufacture is an elegant gilded silver tea and coffee service, made in St. Petersburg in 1908 in the Empire style, as well as an imposing goblet dating from around 1880, entirely decorated with set rubles.
Also notable for its eclectic style and extraordinary craftsmanship is the service created in St. Petersburg in 1857 by Joseph Nordberg (1817–1887), characterized by an evocative pear-shaped form rendered in the round.
For the 20th century, the auction includes an interesting group of silver pieces by Arrigo Finzi, alongside a selection of small objects from renowned houses such as Buccellati, Bulgari, and Tiffany, synonymous with excellence and timeless design.
The catalog is rounded out by numerous collectible English silver pieces, complete cutlery sets, and decorative objects from various eras and styles, making this auction a must-see event for collectors and enthusiasts.
