Original comic art made by Pratt for page 18 of "La Patrol," an Ernie Pike episode first published in Argentina under the title "La Patrulla" in Hora Cero Extra n. 7 in 1959. Inspired by the stories of American war correspondent Ernie Pyle, who died at the end of the Second World War on a small island in the Pacific while serving with the 77th US Infantry Division, Oesterheld and Pratt created the character of Ernie Pike in Argentina in 1957, a man accustomed to the horrors of war but not yet resigned to its bloodthirsty idiocy. Text by H.G. Oesterheld. Creases and tears in the margins. Signed.
