A pivotal issue, marking the first appearance and origin of Doctor Doom in Prisoners of Doctor Doom!. The five-chapter saga sees the villain take the Invisible Girl hostage, bring the Fantastic Four to her castle, and send them back in time in search of the pirate Blackbeard's treasure. The story culminates in the final showdown with Doom, who manages to escape with his jetpack. There's a brief cameo by the Hulk and the series' first mail column, featuring a letter from author Roy Thomas.

A key piece for Silver Age collectors, essential to the mythology of the Fantastic Four and the Marvel Universe.
