Facsimile of two very popular German documents by different authors gathered in a codex in the 16th century. XIV; the Chronicle of the World by Rudolf von Ems and the heroic epic about Charlemagne. With numerous miniatures on a golden background that enrich the two stories in verse, it was most likely intended for a courtier environment.
