Specialist Notes

In 1846, Wilhelm Eduard Weber began publishing his studies on electrodynamic measurements, in which he presented new instruments and methods for the quantitative determination of electrical phenomena. In this context, he introduced the electrodynamometer and proposed a general formulation of the interactions between currents, expanding and integrating Ampère's results. This work represented a decisive contribution to the transition from a qualitative description to a rigorous measurement of electricity, laying the foundation for the definition of absolute electrical units.
