dating: End of 19th beginning of 20th Century provenance: Kalimantan, A fine sample of a single-and false-edged blade for a parang negara, rising towards the weak, provided with grooves on both sides. Red lacquered, Tayuman hilt made of wood shaped as a soop kombeng, with partially pierced brass ring. Fine, wooden scabbard, the upper part carved with a spiral between floral motifs painted in black and red. Typical weapon of the Banjar area. Banjar blades had such a good reputation that even the British built factories in this area. length 65.9 cm.
