Octagonal, 28" barrel, with clearly visible two-line company marking, "KING'S IMPROVEMENT" and patents '66 and '60, with foresight and adjustable rear sight. 45 cal. (45-75?) at the nozzle. Iron frame with some pitting and remains of antique bluing. Brass elevator block without markings. Working mechanism. Upper tang with mark of the model, lower tang with serial no. “16xxx”. Walnut butt (some restoration) and fore-end. Butt plate with loading gate. Sporting rifle version.
