dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Hachi composed of eight-riveted plates reinforced on the border, black-lacquered (small missing parts), large, gold Maru-ni-daki-ha-omodaka-mon at the front side. Red-lacquered interior complete with Futon and laces. Used by Ashigaru Teppo-tai troops (Tanegashima marksmen). Rare. diameter 38.5 cm.
