dating: 16th Century provenance: Venice, Wide, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, with outlined groove at the base, marked 'S,' solid, outlined and grooved tang. Basket-shaped hilt made of engraved iron, with angled quillon and button-shaped ends. With thumb ring at the back, a beautiful bronze pommel shaped as a cat's head with a well-pronounced muzzle in relief. Leather-covered wooden handle (missing parts) without wire binding. length 94.5 cm.
