dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Made of iron, tate-maru-gata, iroe-taka-zoran in bronze, gold, silver and aokin. Depicting a bean plant with a snail, an aubergine on the opposite side. Kozuka and kogai hitsu-ana. Kaku-mimi-koniku. Late Edo period, 19th century. Illustrated and described in Japanese, English and German in 'Tsuba' by Günther Heckmann, H.U.B. Verlag Nürtingen, 1995. No. T136. dimensions 7.8 x 7.3 x 0.35-0.45 cm.
