dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Shinogizukuri-yorimune. Nagasa (length 38.8 cm), hada: itame mokume, hamon: midare gunome nioi deki ko nie, boshi: Jizo boshi, gilded metal habaki. Nakago with a mekugi-ana. Elegant koshirae with tsuba in shakudo, nade-motsukoru-gata, hira-zogan in gold, ke-bori, depicting a figure under a large umbrella, kozuka-hitsu-ana, kaku-mimi-koniku. Fuchi-kashira mei, gold niko-bori, kashira with figure under large umbrella. Nico-bori menuki. Tsuka in black silk. Saya in black lacquered wood of later period, kozuka-mei in shakudo, silver hira-zogan depicting crescent and herbs. Late Edo period early Meiji. length 54 cm.
