dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Shibuichi, tate-maru-gata, taka-bori and niku-bori in shibuichi, shakudo, gold and silver, the front with two frogs under clouds, behind a pine tree in bas-and high-relief. Uchi-gaeshi-mimi (0.45 cm). Mei: Hogen (Kyotoshi) reuse. Late Edo period, mid-19th century. Tanaka Kiyotoshi (1804-1876) was a pupil of Masanori and founder of the Tanaka school. In 1846, he was given the title 'Hogen' and and signed his works this way from that year on.Illustrated and described in Japanese, English and German in 'Tsuba' by Günther Heckmann, H.U.B.
