dating: Third quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Klingenthal, Strong, flat, single-and-false-edged blade, the base with deep mark 'R' surmounted by a large crown. Stirrup guard of the 1760 type with the same mark, sheath-guard wings and long cap fixed at the base with a nail. Leather-covered wooden grip, missing wire binding. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts, provided with two iron suspension rings and iron drag. This mark is one of the first used by the Klingenthal manufactory and was introduced in 1756. The sabre is one of the very first examples of this model produced by the Manufacture. length 100.5 cm.
