length 35 cm.
8“ round, rifled, 44 cal.barrel, marked with New York address, provided with brass foresight, stamped "D" on the lower side and ”L" on the side. The bore needs cleaning; visible rifling. It approximately keeps 30% of its original browning. Six-shot cylinder with rebated tang, featuring remains of browning, with traces of markings and serial number; the patent mark and “L” marks are still visible. An engraving is not visible. Four-screw iron frame, featuring remains of casehardening and “COLT'S PATENT” marking. Provided with cut-outs and raised-head screws to mount the detachable butt. The trigger guard band is made of brass. The back of the grip is made of iron and also features a cut-out for the butt. Grip of walnut wood with remains of a military inspection mark and remains of a stamp (possibly an “S” on the bottom). Three-shot, working mechanism. Matching serial number on the barrel, barrel wedge (shortened), cylinder (shortened and not clearly visible), cylinder pin (shortened), frame, trigger guard, and grip. Light signs of use and time. Remains of browning also on the other parts.
