Small semi-circular iron shell-guard covered with embossed silver sheet decorated with floral motifs. Hexagonal wooden grip with dark leather covering. Faceted inverted pear-shaped pommel with double coats of arms within escutcheons, one bearing a cross applied in brass and the other a series of lozenges; the top worked to simulate a radiating cap; hollowed circular tang button.
