Smoothbore, two-stage barrels, octagonal and round, with rings at the girdle; on the powder chamber of both pistols clearly stamped two silver-inlaid marks, one inscribed “I. MON IN MUNDERKEINGEN”, the other with a crescent moon (“Mond” in German) among three stars; at the sides of the two marks and slightly further forward additional deep decorations; 11.5 mm cal. at the nozzles, fitted with front sights. Tangs fitted with rear sights and respectively marked “1” and “2”. Sober flintlocks, flat plates with oblique edges, bearing the signature “I. MON” engraved with burin; the batteries springs with light chiselling. Full wooden stocks (small restorations) with German-style butts. Plain silver mounts, escutcheons on the back engraved with three keys. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrods, as also the muzzle caps.
