Wide blade, fuller along almost its entire length, with some pitting, signs of use and time, clearly visible on the right side is the “Hanseatic Cross” of the German troops, surmounted by a trophy; on the left side is the Savoy eagle surmounted by a crown and the motto “VIVE LE ROI.” One-quillon brass hilt, crossbar with markings (of the regiment?) “3.e .45” and with what seems to be a stylized flaming grenade in the center of the marking. On the loop-guard, mark “C.” Missing scabbard.
