Round, rifled barrel with octagonal breech, provided with foresight and folding and adjustable rear sight, “HEGE” marking and Portuguese arsenal mark on the breech. 8 mm cal. at the nozzle. Clean bore, visible rifling. Working sliding-revolving bolt. The bolt frame is marked “CE.W.F.G. STEYR 1886”, model “M.1886” and with the monogram of crowned King Louis I. Wooden full stock with the royal monogram “LI°” crowned and the Steyr stamp and date “1886” repeated on the butt stock. Iron mounts. Barrel, bolt and stock with single serial number. Slight signs of use and time. Louis I of Portugal ruled from 1861 to 1889.
