Smoothbore, two-stage barrel, octagonal then round, without girdle, with numerous frames at the breech; for approximately two-thirds of its length fitted with a rib terminating nozzle; this 12.2 mm cal. Smooth angled tang. Snaphaunce flintlock with smooth lockplate; cock with rounded grip; batterie with flat grip decorated with scrolls; internally signed “G. G. A.” (Giuseppe Guardiani, Anghiari) and dated “1788” on the trigger plate. Full stock of dark wood (cracks to the fore-end), with smooth iron mounts; S-shaped counterplate with slightly raised profile; round butt-plate decorated with concentric raised rings, ending in a small button. Iron ramrod with worked tip.
