length 103 cm.
Straight, double-edged, colichemarde blade; wider at the first part with central groove featuring the partially legible inscription “TOMASO AIALA DI TOLEDO”, then thinner and of lozenge section. Cup-hilt entirely of silver, the cup provided with two friezes: on the obverse the Trinacria surrounded by the inscription “Senato di Catania”; on the reverse the Savoy shield under crown and among flags. The upper border decorated with a band of small lilies. Straight quillons ending in buds; the loop-guard terminating in a monster's head. Pommel (possibly replaced) shaped as a bud. Faceted silver grip. Various marks.
