length 120.5 cm.
Round, smoothbore barrel square at the base and with rib; remains of a large mark featuring the Imperial eagle, and on the left side markings “B”, “P” under star, and the date “844”, 17 mm cal. at the nozzle. Tang with fixed rear sight and number “20”. Augustin system lock, dated “843”, numbered “20” and with the Imperial eagle. Wooden full stock with brass mounts (marked “20”) and marked iron ramrod. Pre-Kammerbüchse model. Very rare.

Specialist Notes

Extremely rare example of an experimental smoothbore transitional carbine. The bayonet associated with this carbine is offered in the present sale as lot no. 138.
