Finely worked backplate, showing hammer marks and lamination inside, tapered at the center and pierced at the top; from the center begins a raised decoration formed by repoussé work, continuing onto the subsequent plates. The following plate showing hammer marks and, on the exterior, continues the repoussé decoration. Cusped edges. The three subsequent plates patinated on the interior and without evident hammer marks, with exterior decoration continuing the overall design. Iron rivets, probably from a restoration. Leather straps of non-recent manufacture. The two 15th-century upper plates probably integrated by a skilled craftsman in the 19th century.
