A composite roman style flintlock pistol, XVIII/XIX Secolo

length 40.5 cm.
Round, smoothbore, two-stage, square and round barrel with rings at the girdle; the vent and the front part of the barrel have been restored. Beautiful Roman-style lock, decorated with floral motifs; hammer throw, springs and hammer with engravings and carvings en suite; internally marked 'CELALBA'. Wooden full stock with a carved butt in the shape of a hound's head (of the 'Chien de mer' type). Silver mounts, trigger guard with a beautiful bust in relief within a medallion, silver ramrod pipes, faceted. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod, not contemporary. Interesting composite pistol, the stock probably from the 19th century, the lock from the second half of the 18th century, the mounts from another pistol.
