Straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section. Gilt-brass hilt, the shell-guard featuring the Savoy coat of arms surmounted by crown, among oak and laurel branches and lion heads. Additional lion heads at the end of the quillon, at the centre of the loop-guard, and on the pommel. Wooden grip with mother-of-pearl grip scales. Leather scabbard with brass mounts and two suspension rings.
