A beautiful, probably 16th-century Burgundian skull, crafted in a single piece, with a well-defined crest protruding backward toward the nape of the neck, with a rim featuring remains of twisted decoration and a pointed visor with a ropededge and a lowered rim, remains of old leather strings. Two holes through the crest. The chin strap of ancient manufacture but probably not pertaining to the skull. Cage visor, typical of the "Gioco del Ponte", with thick vertical bars, fixed with rivets to the frame. Some small missing parts, a couple of old dents on the crest. The helmet has an ancient dark-brown patina, never touched, with pitting and obvious encrustations of the ancient black bituminous paint.
