Francia
length 83,5 cm.
Slightly curved blade, with fuller along most of its length, grooved next to the back. Pitting, signs of wear and age. Length 69 cm. Bronze-coloured metal hilt with single guard featuring wavy edges and perforated segments. Possibly remains of elements for mounting a turning guard. Handle and pommel in a single piece, ending in a beautiful buttoned eagle's head (the button is a separate element). Scabbard in old polished black leather, fairly well preserved, with small signs of wear and age (perhaps with some minor damage towards the tip); metal mounts with patina consistent with the sword mounts. The lug is missing. Typically from the revolutionary period.
