Made of blackened iron; one-piece skull with six raised ribs, fitted at the top with a ring on a circular base. Pointed peak with a slot for a sliding nosepiece, adjustable by a wing-nut; the tip with traces of a mark. Four-plate Lobster-tail nape-guard; articulated cheekpieces with rosette-pattern air holes. Original leather strings, partly restored. Used by Austrian heavy cavalry during the Turkish Wars (1788–1789).
