Curved, single-edged blade with jelmann, in fine Wootz damask, with a groove along part of the spine. On one side of the tang is the inscription ‘La hawla wa la quwwata illa Billah al layul azim’ ‘There is no power except from Allah’. On the other side, a cartouche with a stylised lion, typical of Assad Allah's production; all surrounded by decorations and small frames inlaid with gold. Typical Damascus guard, also with small gold frames; pistol-shape handle with camel bone cheeks (missing parts and defects).
