At the tang, oxidation and a hand-engraved artisan mark: "La ... di S. Giuliano a l capitano FILIPPO COLONNA / ... per il fatto d'arme del 18-05-1849" (some parts not fully legible). Iron mounts with langets; quillons engraved with column motifs. Grip made of dark horn-like material, with old restoration or refreshed varnish. Short iron cap engraved with a column surmounted by a crown. Oxidation on the pommel and cap.
